HOW DO WE DO IT?
1. School/Church Ministry
Over the last couple of years Hykie has personally addressed thousands of families, children and young adults about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and what God has done for him personally. As an award winning actor and winner of Survivor he uses the gospel to capture their attention and really gets his message across.
2. Online Service
Hope In ACTion serves as an educational medium by distributing invaluable content concerning modern day social challenges online to all its members. We believe all adults especially parents need to be informed (Register at hopeinaction.co.za for free) concerning the numerous social pressures and dangers that our kids and our society are facing today. We (Hope In ACTion ) make it our finest priority to seek out the greatest experts in their particular field without anyone having to search for them.
3. What is Mission 5 Million?
Today, malnutrition has become a global epidemic. The New York Times calls it the “New Hidden Hunger”.
We used to think malnutrition was a problem that existed on the other side of the world. Now, it’s a problem that often exists just on the other side of the table. It is a phenomenon that touches the lives of 55 million children at any given moment. Up to one-half of all childhood deaths in the world are linked to malnutrition.
Poor health conditions linked directly to poor nutrition have become the number one cause of disability, mental health challenges and death in America. In developing countries, the problem is consuming too little of the right kind of food. In industrialised countries, the problem has become consuming too much of the wrong kind of food.
Three to five million children under the age of five die every year from the devastating effects of malnutrition. That’s 14000 a day. The facts are heart-breaking. Staggering. But not unbeatable, thanks to people like you. M5M’s mission is to fight global malnutrition by nourishing the world with Real
Food Technology supplementation while empowering and rewarding the lives of those who champion their cause. Hope In ACTion is proud to be associated with the M5M movement. Our vision for this year is to impact the global epidemic of childhood malnutrition by linking six hundred consumers of Real Food Technology supplementation with six hundred children in need. At the same time this offers an unprecedented, purpose-driven wealth creation opportunity for all those who choose to champion this cause.
4. Recovery Coaching
With the growing demand for programmes that focus on sustainable recovery and long-term wellness, experts have identified the need for a programme that differs slightly from traditional outpatient programs. The focus of the Recovery Wellness Programme is self-empowerment through forward-focused, solutions-driven group coaching.
The Recovery Wellness Coaching Programme creates a safe space for clients to move forward in their recovery by focusing on rebuilding #RecoveryCapital in the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual areas of life.
The core elements of the programme are peer support, adult education and coaching. This gives clients an opportunity to learn new tools and skills that will empower them in recovery, while being supported by their peers. By being responsible for their personal development, clients are better equipped to manage their recovery in a holistic and honest way.
5. The Foundation
As you have expressed interest in attending a Residential Programme, here are the details of the Residential Programme.
During your stay you are considered a patient under the therapeutic and medical care of the multidisciplinary team headed up by psychologist, Dr Michael Niss.
The programme runs for a minimum 21 days up to 42 days, including a possible detox period. Residential treatment at The Foundation Clinic is an ideal setting for patients who have either unsuccessfully attempted to deal with addictions while remaining in their own environment, or for whom outpatient treatment did not offer sufficient support and structure to deal with their addiction.
The level of care needed for each individual is determined by an individual assessment, taking into account the personal circumstances, support systems and personal motivation of the individual patient. Once the patient has voluntarily agreed that residential treatment is the best level and choice of care, The Foundation Clinic will offer an intensive daily program in a supportive environment in which family involvement is encouraged.
The cornerstone of The Foundation Clinic is based on a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) and Addiction Counselling. It deals with addiction in a focused manner, equipping patients with the knowledge and personal power to make the life changes needed to achieve a sustained, long-term recovery. In order to do so, one needs to identify and learn skills to make the necessary changes to a behaviour, at emotional and thinking levels. At The Foundation Clinic, the approach is very much dominated by the knowledge that without these changes, arresting addiction is not sufficient in itself, but rather the follow through of learning how to remain abstinent is critical to recovery.
